Energy crisis

Amazing how quickly the G.W. Bush Administration caused an energy crisis in the USA. It's amazing that after only 4 months he was able to criple California, and more states are soon to follow. It's a shame that he was able to dismantle the great programs set forth by his wise predecessor. Those programs which awarded conservation and "alternative" energy sources. What's that? You say that this plight is the result of poor planning? That a little forsight and proactive measures could have prevented this? That's not what my local news program told me...

i don't know who caused the calif energy crisis. i didn't. but i heard a republican senator say let the market place determine the price. he also said "if oranges are too expensive, don't buy them." this is about the most assinine remark i have ever heard coming out of a politician's mouth since "if they can't afford bread, let them eat cake." what kind of wierd wired connection could be in this politicians mind. off with his head. i also heard some idiot from the elec co saying we can always arrange payment schedules. if you are having trouble paying this months bill, what is the point to a payument schedule when you will not be able to afford next months.

the problem rik, was there was never deregulation in California, perhaps in name only, but the California government brought the mess on themselves.

The same people that bitch and moan about the energy crisis are usually the same people that bitch and moan about energy exploration: don't build dams, because the fish won't be able to swim: don't build wind turbines, because they ruin the lands beauty: don't drill in our National Parks because it will pollute them. When 9 out of 10 times the land is returned to it's natural state or in better shape following drilling/exploration. With proper regulation we can build dams that allow the fish to swim up stream etc...

As a Californian, I must admit that the state has done one great job of creating our "shortage" and can only blame ourselves! As to the most asine statement from a politician, I will go with, "I did not have sex with that woman" just in front of the other one above! Charlie PS-Our limp wristed Governor is a big disgrace and has now started pointing fingers at everybody from Bill Richardson to GWB and is crabbing all over the place while he does his softshoe dancing!

Uncle, the LIBERAL MEDIA will have you believe that the republican controlled house and senate created the energy crisis, but the democratic Clinton administration created and maintained the great economy. They may not have coined the phrase, but they live by it: They will have their cake and eat it too!

charlie since you brought up "i did not have sex with that woman" i must explain a little of the law. it is the LETTER of the law that determines wether you have lied. the LETTER of the law for "sex" was defined as sexual intercourse. not gropping or cigaring, or fellatio he did not lie. he used the definition, the LETTER of the law correctly. the fact that he is a sexual predator is an entirely different matter. i know people don't want to believe it, but the definition given to him was not thorough and he could say, without lying, "i did not have sex with that woman." who incidentally was a predator herself.

Rick, I cannot believe that you fell for that BS relating to sex with that woman and the letter of the law. He lied, he lies all the time and his nose is getting longer with each and every speech he makes. Charlie

RICK, using lawyer-esque language will not change the fact that he did indeed lie. Under oath. He did not, in fact, say "sex", but rather "sexual relations". He is supposedly a Rhodes Scholar. He shouldn't need his lawyers to give New definitions to everyday words. To do so is deceiptful. And to deceive is to lie. So you may want to reconsider your blind faith in slick willy. He's not only a liar. He's a goddamn liar. And I never use those words lightly.

dorothy paker when asked to use horticulture in a sentence said "you can lead a whore to culture, but you can't make her think." i'm glad to the ayn rand's name mentioned however. it shows a man of breeding and intellect.

re clinton's lies, i guess i just don't expect any politician to tell the truth about anything. washington's brother chopped down the cherry tree, but george (note the first name) knew he would be famous if he took the credit and it appeared as if he told the truth.

All politicians lie, but not under oath. Don't forget, Bubba was on trial being accused of sexual advancements. That's a horrible crime. What if a woman you knew and cared about was propositioned physically or visually like Clinton was accused of doing? He belongs behind bars. This is all just another brick in the wall, since he lives out everyday in the same morally deficient manner.

Rick, you are telling us that a 10-12 year old or however old George was at the time, was able to rationalize that if he took the rap for what his brother did, he would be famous?!!
