Ran in the door about 5 minutes ago.

Coffee ended up being too good. About 10 minutes out I got that loving feeling. But it didn’t seem to be urgent just a friendly heads up. Pulled in and parked still fine. Then all of a sudden before I could set the air brakes I cramped. Somewhere along the way my passenger jumped from the Mayflower to the Cannonball Express.

Didn’t dare hike because I knew I’d fill my boots if I did. So I hit Uber for a ride. When Uber paired a driver it showed him 8 minutes away. Ended up taking him 15. I watched his progress on the app and he hit every damn red light on the way. Oh and to top it all off the Uber driver was playing an Arabic radio station that seemed to be broadcasting prayer call music. He he made a right on red coming out of the parking lot without stopping. A car on the highway had to slam on his brakes to keep from piling into us.

When we pulled up I’m trying to open the door before he stopped. Didn’t work. He had to come to a complete stop before the doors would unlock automatically. Ran up the side walk, came in and slammed the front door shut, rounded the corner and damn near knocked my 83 year old Mom on her arse who happened to be coming up the hall. But, all’s well that ends well.

LOL It is clear, assholes rule. LOL Glad you made it home.

Got my start date 3/3.

I requested 2/25 since that's when I get back from Florida trip. Finish out in icu, go on vacation, and don't come back.

Made spam eggs and rice for my work meals. Got some kimchi in the work fridge to jazz it up a bit.

Got time to kill before work and I found my actual last T52 coronet so I'm burning that in the garage.

Yes. A few times, had the jacket a third unzipped. Only got chilly after 4:45. We even had some sunshine.

Lolz. I have to go to HR in person to get a new badge and sign paperwork. I should feign surprise when it says day shift.

Loads of rain here too. 33F but the ground is colder so it's a sheet of ice with a mud slurpee dumped on top.

Took me 40 minutes to get to the Dr office on my way home for annual visit. It should be 10 minutes tops in traffic. I was planning on filling my kerosene jugs on the way to Dr from work until I got on the road. Didn't have time for that stop.

Did swing by the HR building on my way out and sign the paperwork for transfer. They didn't have my new badge or parking permit ready yet. Need new parking tag cause I get to park in the medical staff lot.

Jeez glad I already unloaded before I read that.

Made it home safe. Spent plenty of quality time with my two children and my ex (don’t ask, it’s complicated) yesterday. Then went to bed early and I’m still in bed.

My daughter’s bed is way more comfortable than my truck bunk as well as my mattress at home. Then an added benefit came in the form of being woken up some time during the night to her crawling in bed and saying, “I came to see you.” She asked me to hug her then a few minutes later she said, “I have to go to my Mom” and left. It’s moments like that that bring this old putz to tears.

But all good things come to an end. I need to finish my laundry. Cook some breakfast for the two ladies still sleeping on the other of the house. I also need to take care of a very important career development issue and some other misc issues. Then reluctantly I’ll head head home this evening. I’m pulling out around 3 AM tomorrow and I don’t want to wake anyone up that early.

Tomorrow I’ve got to drive about 11 hours to Yee Haw Junction tomorrow. I need to get there early enough to get in a 10 hour break before rolling out Thursday around 2:45 to make sure I’m on time for a 5 AM delivery in West Palm Beach.

Not sure where I’m going after that. But the smaht money is straight to Siler City, NC. Then back west on the same loop I just finished. Though it’s possible I’ll get something around Tennessee. Then head towards the Carolinas and drop then go to Siler City. On the other hand I may get sent towards Georgia grab something there then head who knows where. A buddy of mine made this same run and got sent to Green Bay. So I’ll have to wait to see.

Rain n fog here. 35 and people driving like it's ice. I encountered zero ice. Took 40 minutes to get home. Normally the drive home is 15.

Even the boys bus was 20m late this morning. Right after wife said we're gonna have to drop him off, we heard the air brakes on his bus at the stop sign up the street.

75 already, scattered clouds and sun. Feels nice.

Might have to take ol' Tank for another stroll this afternoon. I did the weights, but skipped the cardio today. Chest/Tri's kicked my arse. Went to Publix and got some chicken tenders and ate one before I got to the truck.

Had a protein shake at home... chocolate powder (1g sugar per serving 30g protein) blueberries, strawberries and half an avocado. Talk about tasty!

Finally feeling about 85% better, off to pick up a toilet at HD. It's the last piece I need to pick up for a 2x bathroom remodel starting next week. I really hope the contractor rememebers that we need one working and accessible toilet... I can see them installing a toilet, then putting new tile around it and telling us to stay off the tile for 24 hours. How the hell do I get to the toilet if I can't walk on the floor???

The annual fight with the palm trees is imminent and made sooner since the painters are coming early February. Any shrubbery near the house walls and backyard block walls need to be trimmed back. Time to get out the kevlar suit.
