It was Maduro, but yes relatively newer. Maybe a couple of months at best. I always try to stockpile these 0000's but just can't get there.

Before the dreaded MAP enforcement, it was easier to win 5ers and boxes of PAN / PAM 64's and 26's on the well-known auction site than X000's! For the life of me I could never figure out why it was that way so just stuck to the higher end smokes.

I've been on a deep Warped kick lately.

Keep an eye out on tenski, they just ran a Warped sale with some really killer pricing. I wish the fiver/tenski prices translated into box prices on the sales. I really wanted to buy boxes but the boxes were $1-2per more than buying packs. In the end I still get 20 cigars, they're just harder to find once they go into my bulk singles case than if they were in boxes.

And jeebling has PM'd me coupon codes for the small place that got me some sky moon and moon garden.

Ah yes, I remember Palama was giving Sky Moon pretty high praise at some point. I’ll definitely give them a try if I see a good sale come across.

Black azz MSA wrapped stuffed w/Nic ligero. Small veins, virtually invisible seems, bull pen feed lot aroma, like sucking on a double barrel stuffed with asphalt shingles upon light up. Retro is absolutely mellow w/i 2 draws. Tar is hanging in there with a strong teriyaki flavor. Tar transition to charred Bourbon barrel. 1” ash drop. Quick finish, sickly sweet, no other flavor is breaking out. Extremely strong body IMHO. Seems like an early transition to 2nd third, charred Bourbon barrel into a brown liquor aftertaste on retro. Body is tamed, lots of smoke, generous draw. Harsh in back of mouth. Liquor taste fades, a bit earthy. Had to amend the burn line. Body comes back full in final third. Burning pitch flavor. I put down the last 2” at an hour five. I’ve had this cigar for 6 weeks and I think it needs beauty rest.

82033 Warped Devil's Hands. Starts off dry and spicy. Watering eyes from the first retro. Quickly settles into a sweet and spicy play. Texture more creamy less dry. Rich silty soil and minerals along with sweet spiced nuts. Fantastic cigar I can't wait to see how they progress with time if I can keep from pulling them out. So damn good. Smoked this one till my fingertips and lips couldn't handle the heat.

82035 Camacho Connecticut with thanks to jeebling. Going in, I've never had a big band Camacho I've liked.

First light pretty basic Connie. First ash drop, basic Connie. Little sweet bread, little grassy, little pepper on retro.

Halfway it's a pretty basic Connie.

Finished as a pretty basic Connie. Could have just about any brand name on there. Nothing special but nothing bad, it's a pretty basic Connie.

82036 - Illusione Original Documents Corojo HL lancero, a recent gift from Telecaster52. A big punch of smooth spice from end to end, clouds of smoke, nice warm retrohale and a little nic kick. Very nice.

82037, 82038 - Punch Golden Era toro (X2), also from Ben. Something familiar about this one, looked up the blend info and eureka!.. Eiroa Corojo. The sweet cream finish had me wanting another but my big brother took it from me! I'm gonna need a 5er of these.
Thanks to Telecaster52 for these great smokes!

82041 CAO Flathead 660 with thanks to jeebling.

I've not had one of these in ages. They came out back in my shpo days, probably at the end around 2013ish. I picked up a few of them and thought they were great. But I also was mostly smoking the big cigar brands, not the boutiques, so my tastes were different then.

First off, this cigar is too big. 6x60 is not my thing. But I'm gonna smoke it because it's the next one in line. The box press does seem to help hide the girth but like women's clothing that supposedly hides their girth, theres still a fat chick underneath. First light kinda harsh, dry, peppery. But it settled down. Draw is perfect, burn is perfect, ash is solid. Dirt and leathery with some metallic sharpness I presume is some ligero in the blend. Maybe MSA maybe just a harsh broadleaf I can't tell. Used coffee grounds. But it all works well together. Being a STG product I wanted to chit on it but it's pretty good. Not my preferred profile but I can appreciate it.

I smoked it fast, but it didn't care. It's a decent to good cigar. No big transitions throughout but beyond the halfway point it got a slight bit sweeter. I wouldn't buy one but I'd smoke another. Hour twenty smoke time, I smoked it fast. I did put it down with a good bit of length left because an inch or so past halfway it lost its luster and got boring.

Glad it was ok, Danm. This cigar is in my top 5 currently. You are right about the girth though. Recently I’ve been preferring a 48 or 50 gauge vitola.

82042: Graycliff 'G2' PGX (Toro) (6.0"x50)

This was surprisingly a good cigar. Nutty, creamy, light hits of white pepper and even a hint of milk chocolate throughout the middle. This one was better than the others I had smoked when these cigars were in my storage for a couple weeks. Additional 2 months has really changed the flavor. Like Palama and Jake and JGRAZ and many of you guys have mentioned, I need to know which cigars are good ROTT, after a months, or after a much longer rest. Thanks to Danm, DED, Toker and all yous mugs & azzhats for learning me on ‘baccy.

EDIT: these were better than the RoMa Craft Intemperance. I paid $7.50 for a fiver of the Graycliff and several times that for the RoMa. Let’s see if the RoMa Craft improves with a couple months of nap time.

I personally haven't come across a Intemperance that I have cared for, though I have a few sitting as well. For my money the CroMagnon, Neanderthal, Aquitaine, & Baka all shine.

My very first cigar event was a RoMa Craft smoker in 2013. Skip Martin was there that night even though he was, reportedly, sick as a dog earlier in the day. No details so dunno what was ailing him. Nonetheless, he seemed like a cool guy and one of my buddies, HOnizuka won a box of CroMagnon Venus’. Homer gave one to each of us at our table. It’s a rather big boy, 6.50 x 56, so I have yet to smoke it.

Anyway, meant to say that when the brand was newer and with a lot less blends, imho, the Intemperance line was the best they had. While I’mma still a fan of the Envy BA XXI and its Brazilian Arapiraca wrapper, I like the CroMagnon Aquitaine the most. Iffin’ you let the Whiskey Rebellion cigars sit for 2 to 3 years, you’ll be rewarded with a very good smoke. Of course, ymmv.

82046: RP Decade 46: For some reason I have 2 pairs of these (2 46's and 2 lonsdales). Decided to smoke the newer ones first to let the Lonsdales get even older. NH this vitola. Solid. Cedar and pepper to start, then transition to pepper with a hint of sweetness (like cherry cordial) then finishes back to the cedar, pepper and a cinnamon finish.

Yah, you'd have no real idea how long the cigar have been out or iffin' it was properly humidified. Also, gotta remember, RoMa Craft is not a farm to table operation so they can't always guarantee getting the same tobacco / results year after year. Well, realistically no farmer can but at least with Fuente, Padron and the like, they control everything, thus being able to be more consistent. I'mma thinking the tobaccos used in your cigar mighta been w-a-y different than the ones used in the OR or even 2nd release. Of course, our palates are also different so that's another factor to consider.

The Whiskey Rebellion is actually one of the Intemperance that I haven't tried, and I do have a few sitting so that's good news to look forward to. Another I've heard good things about is the Volsted, haven't tried that either and have a few as well

As to not being able to guarantee the same tobaccos each time, that explains why they have just changed the CroMagnon blend. Haven't tried the new but I've been actively buying up what old I can find, and afford.

A week or 2 in storage is just a wink for this black sweet treat. I need to let the few I have left get several months nap time before I try again. I can tell there is something there, it just won’t break out. The cigar smells like fresh ground coffee hidden deep beneath a barnyard aroma. A black pepper burst at light up with a sweet fruity taste I couldn’t nail down. Tasted tar like in the first inch, unruly body with no flavor and a surprisingly easy retro. The mouth tobacco at the cap was sweet, salty mineral but those flavors never presented in the smoke or retro. Disappointed but probably because I rushed this one through the resting period.

I do have a couple that were gifted to me and I suspect they have a bit more age on them. Coming up pretty soon I’ll start burning through some of my many, many gifts.

Foundation Cigars is having growing pains as well and having to change some of their blends. Nick Melillo has recently moved his HQ to Connecticut and is beginning to farm more of his tobacco. I’m hoping this is something that he can manage and that he gets the tobacco he wants.

82051 Diesel red band with thanks to jeebling. Went out of order and skipped Diamond Crown cause I'm on call and that's not a cigar I want to risk ditching if the pager goes off.

Dry, AJF pepper. This is how I remember Diesels. There's just not much there. Good draw good burn good smoke awful cigar. I gave it an inch and pitched it.

Dark Criollo wrapper with dark mottled spots. Looks like a stinker but smells like fresh hay. Mild pepper and sweetness at kick off. First half had a shy toasted grain taste but never really stood out. Mellow and on the sweeter side with the smoke being fuller in body, easy draw and tidy burn. Last half had very small amounts of mineral, pepper and gentle sweetness. Burned cool to the nub. Supposed to be a killer but I put it medium + at the very most. Nothing bad but nothing here either. Not interested in spending money on these again. I paid $4.6 per in a fiver @ CB. Disappointed

82053 Diesel Whiskey Rebellion with thanks to jeebling.

First light already has a body and the pepper is subdued. Definitely a better cigar than the last one. Fairly dry texture, bitter nuts, woody. All the habano wrapper things I dislike. Uncharacteristic of AJF this thing will only burn on one side. Multiple touchups and can not get it to stay straight. The main band is rather large and at 2" I already had to remove it and of course it's glued to the wrapper. Took off about a 1" square maybe that's the issue but the binder is intact. The side that won't burn is the side with the hole.

Doesn't seem to adversely affect it though, flavors got better. More rich texture, some caramel sweetness, the bitterness and dry wood has left. Touchup number 4 I lightly purged and saw no smoke escape the wrapper void so I don't think that's the issue. Still a dry texture

Overall decent, had to put in too much effort with touchups. Habanos aren't my jam but it tastes true to style. Didn't pick up anything to indicate barrel aging though. I expected something unique to pop out but it was just a generic oily habano all the way. The burn line did correct at about 2" remaining.

That has been my experience as well. I haven't found an AJ cigar I really love though, but several that were good. I did pick up a couple El pulpo, well see how he does with a $10+ cigar...
