82234 - Unbanded double perfecto from SOB. This was part of the local-B&M-cigars thread a while back. The first 60%ish of this cigar was connie, then it switched to a maduro wrapper. They're good. We suspect, but cannot prove, it's a JSK roll.

I walked 18 holes yesterday. Haven't played in a long time. Shot a 68, and that included a couple of penalties.
(Dinosaur ate my ball on the 9th. Got stuck in the windmill on the 15th.)

Oops, added the cigar name (…just so Lee can rant about it…).

But as far as the cigar goes, iffin’ you can get them at a decent price, then yes. I’ve enjoyed the two I’ve ashed up. I got them from the small place and coupling the sale discount and reward points, paid under $7 per. But that was 4 years ago so you can probably get a better deal now.

They were on sale at the small place 2 weeks ago. I bought a fiver for $35.62

Looks fine, nothing on the nose or cold draw. First half very mild run of the mill Connie. Draw is a bit tight, nothing serious. Notes of marshmallow, cocoa, vanilla but stingy amounts and even less white pepper, nice balance. Reminds me of those International Coffees they used to sell. Still do?Celebrate the moments in your life. Consistent mild sweet finish and retro. Cool smoker. The above flavors continued to nub but hard to find. This was a typical Connie, not worth the $12 I paid for it. Not recommended.

Also at Tenski place for 20 bucks if you buy 4 fivers. I think they had the deal posted on their discord.

82242 Ortega Cigar Co Cubao with thanks to jeebling.

Draw medium, slightly astringent, little woody. It's better without retrohale. Wood. Bitter, dry like tea leaves and sawdust. Aftertaste is foul. I made it an inch.

82243 OSOK/Rojas Los Tejanos Lancero with thanks to jeebling. Interesting prelight aroma. Smells like ...chit. like old cheese. I like stinky cheese. I'm intrigued by this. I bought a box of something recently that had a similar funk. Olmec maybe? Not sure if I should let this rest till the smell subsides, or go for it. I'm gonna go for it.

First light closed foot mega pepper blast. Some bitterness on the finish. Bakers cocoa. No cheesy funk. Burnt toast and leather. Dry but not astringent. Very earthy MSA flavors. I cracked an A&W cream soda to try to help with the astringency of the first cigar but elected to not power through and just move on. The sweet flavors in the soda compliment the cigar very well.

Halfway there's a slight sweetness, like a wheat bread sweetness. Less burnt toast more regular toast. Still heavy on MSA notes. I think I like it.

Down a bit more it's burnt caramel and chocolate.

It's a good cigar. I'd smoke another. I dont know that I've had MSA in a lancero before. It's overwhelming, but it hit the spot today. It's definitely a last cigar of thr day type of smoke. I'd even say this is something I'd grab a fiver of.

82247: E.P. Carrillo INCH Maduro #62 (Gordo) (5.0"x62)

I’ve had this cigar since March 11th so 7 weeks. My second one and much better than the first I smoked. Definitely putting the rest in storage for a few months minimum. Beautiful and well made. The nose is a bit floral and fruity, or maybe it’s sweetbread. Hard to describe because it smells just like CBL Maduro and tastes pretty much sweet and savory all the way through. Held a 2 1/2” ash, acceptable burn line, copious amounts of cool smoke on a comfortably easy draw. Not too sweet, just right. Midway I think I caught some mocha and toast until final third when flavor returned to original creamy smoke and flavor profile. Lots of body but mellow, very mellow retro. Not to abandon effort or creativity but this tastes like the quintessential Connie BL done right. I bet after a year or two this is going to be phenomenal.

Very good cigar - and you are correct. A bit of rest will improve the taste. I can confirm that.

First time but something is wrong w/this cigar. Ash bloom and nasty industrial chemical taste on my lips from the wrapper. Couldn’t smoke this one.

*thank you, Leebo. Looks like you’ve got a stand in today…or got a haircut?

82310 Perdomo 20th anniversary CT with thanks to jeebling.

Excellent typical high end Connie. Smoked till my fingers got hot. Didn't take long, only about 45 minutes. Not sure if that's me or thr cigar smoking fast but it didn't give me any issues

I have huge respect for Perdomo as a company. I just wish they'd do some wild chit. They make solid, reliable, good cigars at a fair price. I'd love to see what they could make if they broke the mold a bit. One of Nick's kids could do an offshoot company and utilize dad's farms and factory to make some more interesting things. It's been ages since I've had one and this is exactly what I remember. Impeccable construction quality, consistent blending, good cigar. I spose it works for Davidoff and Padron, slow and steady. But I'm left wondering what they could do. Make a $20 cigar and I guarantee they'd be picking at those other consistent brands. Perdomo family reserve.

82311 Perdomo Champagne with thanks to jeebling.

This one isn't as good as the 20th, but it is what I remember the Champagne being. Where the 20th was a high end Connie, this is more a midrange. Lighter in flavor and texture. Still decent to good. Just a nice pleasant smoke. Nothing to excite or offend.

82313 - AF Brevas Royal corona from PW. Thank you, PW!
82314 - AJF Last Call rothschild because homies count
82315 - Punch Bareknuckle short belicoso

I was talking about those La Aurora Preferidos parejos the other day and the price discrepancies between the toros and romustos, and tenski fixed that. I wonder if they read my stuff? Think

Their pricing did not make sense. The romustos were about $55 for a 5ver, but the toros were only $25. But a box of toros was over $230+ (for 18 cigars) when you could buy 4 of the 5packs for $100. It was weird. Then they raised the price to about $36 for a 5ver of the toros, which made me want them less, but was still inconsistent with the box price. Now they've raised them to over $60. They went from $25 to $63 in a little over a week. They read my stuff.

Now I wish I had bought them for $25. Even though I didn't want them.
