According to this WalletHub survey, 3 of the top 5; and 7 of the top 15 happiest cities are in California... and 13 of the top 30 are also in the Golden State.

Guess that's one reason everybody else bad mouths this state...we're just too damn happy...

I'm guessing this survey had something to do with weed and weather.

The weather alone would make me happier. Winter greys always bring me down for 6mo of every year.

Danm , you may need a S.A.D. LIGHT?
Seasonal Affliction Disorder...
My friend has had it for years...
I found two excellent SAD LIGHTS in the trash about 2 months ago...
One was smaller , retails for $129.99 and I sold it to my buddy for $20...
I still have the other one...both Are made by medical supply company in Canada...this one is bigger and produces more light...
It retails for $229.99 and was trying to sell it for $35 at a couple flea mkts but no takers yet...it is the size of one of those "1950's STATE GOVT OFFICE WEIGHTED DESK LIGHTS" AND IT HAS A CANTALEVERED STRETCHING capability with a heavy base...
Both came from a RICH NEIGHBORHOOD IN MY TOWN...rich people throw away all kinds of good working order items...these two are excellent examples of that...
My friend has an inside office with no windows and gets zero sunlight all day...he loves the one I sold him...

Cracked up when I saw Pearl City as the #8 Happiest City. I wouldn’t exactly call PC a “city”. More like a suburb town, at best. But hey, good for those folks! Applause

I'm throwing the BS flag on this "survey".

Chula Vista? There's a reason it's called Chula Juana... as in Tijuana North. Oceanside is called OceanCrime for a reason...

Oakland? Good grief, come on... even you can't believe that.

They're SO happy the state has been losing population for 3 straight years!!

Art is coming to visit in June... he said he wants to hang out with me and scout for a landing spot when he retires. lol

You can choose to be happy or unhappy wherever you are.

As someone who likes to be outdoors as much as possible, good weather plays a big part in making me happy and California has the best weather in the nation.

Being a little sarcastic I see. What constitutes happiness in one person's eyes doesn't necessarily bring happiness to another.

There are some old sayings that come to mind:

1) garbage in, garbage out - unless someone knows what criteria was considered and how that criterion was weighted everything that follows is irrelevant.

2) one can get statistics to say whatever they what them to say - how a question is worded has a direct bearing on how it's answered.

Did they consider firearm related activities in this survey? If not, then I suspect firearm friendly states would have fared better.

Did they consider mud riding related activities? If not, I suspect rural areas would have fared better.

Did they consider offshore fishing? If not, I suspect coastal states would have fared better.

True!

Sorry, the lower humidity of California is my preference, though my personal favorite would be La Paz, Baja California Sur, which but for a clerical error would be part of the USA.

^THAT!! I spent 4 glorious days fishing in Bahia de Los Angeles which is just north of La Paz. I want to go back and fish La Paz and Cabo San Lucas.

I've never been to a happy city in the US.........uptight rude azzholes seem to be the norm. Now abroad Manila,Cebu City Philippines,Mumbai India and Perth Australia all seem to be very happy cities. If I had to live in a city I'd definitely pick one of these with Cebu City at the top of my list.
