Morning, peeps. Happy Bday to Mrs. Beach. I think maybe her 28th. Suspiciously, a sliver appears to be missing from the cake

Happy Birthday Mrs. Beach.

The #1 cause of death is too many birthdays so I stopped counting years ago in attempts to live longer.

So she just missed 4/20 and sharing a birthday with Hitler? My son wasn't so lucky, he turned 15 yesterday. I didnt know about Hitler until he was born and like 10 people told me. Happy Birthday to your wife.

Got around to opening my third cigar storage case. I'd prefer to buy boxes of the things I like but even box sales aren't cheaper per cigar than fivers and tenski sales so my bulk singles case was nearly full. I'd prefer to keep bulk singles case for singles/partial fivers and not ten or twenty of the same thing. It was terribly disorganized trying to find something specific everything got jumbled around it was a mess. There's 3 compartments in the case, so I organized it alphabetically ish.

I bought some small plastic baskets that fit perfectly in a tote that I ended up using for box storage, so the baskets are going in the old box storage case. Each basket holds about 30 toros so I went through bulk singles and basketed related cigars that I had about 10ea, labeled with a piece of painter's tape, and put 4 baskets in the case. Now I have room for a lot more cigars in bulk singles and room for 4 more baskets in the case. And still plenty room in box storage.

My brother and sister in law have this thing going for years. Look at the dollars that you have in your wallet, pocket or whatever. If it contains a letter that matches the initial of your first name, put the dollar in a jar and by the end of the year you'll likely have a thousand bucks or so to use for whatever you want. A sort of silly savings thingy like a swear jar.

My first initial is C. I looked at the paper I have in my wallet and they all contain the letter C. "The United States of America." I told her that I will never have any cash on me if I follow her trick.

"No stupid, look at the serial number not the entire bill."

I've had the same three $1 bills in my pocket since at least February.. I know this because I thought before we drove to FL I should get some cash and didn't, and didn't have any need for it either. I rarely use cash. I keep a coffee can in the gun safe for cash when I sell something on craigslist/marketplace and use that cash for craigslist/marketplace buys. That's about the only time I ever use cash

I don't use cash much. Typically only have $20 or $30 in cash in my wallet. I use my debit card for most purchases. If I order take out, delivery, or eat out I use the card for the bill and cash for the tip (so they can claim what they want for income tax purposes).

If the Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Vets, dance school, high school band or whatever are running a charity fund drive in front of a store or a car wash or something it's good to have some cash on hand.

Yup... they've made it entirely too convenient for us to use cards to buy stuff. So they can track every dime.

Credit and debit card companies charge the retailer for u to use that card, then the cost ultimately comes back to you in increased prices. They also sell your purchase information to make even more money. Everything is a racket.

I'm sure the gubment wants u to use a trackable form of payment everytime too.

At this point using cash at the grocery store is almost as bad as those old ladies busting out the checkbook in the checkout line.

I still haven't adopted the venmo or zelle stuff yet. I do have PayPal but I've not used it in 15+ years used to break down motorcycles and sell parts on eBay so it was necessary.

When cash price is available usually 3% discount, I do cash/check. If it's the same either way, I do card because then I get 2% or more back on the purchase. As long as I always pay it off, it's free money. And if it's a big expense I can't pay off, it goes on the card and I write a check from my heloc to pay it off and only pay 6% apr instead of 20-30.

Braised a brisket, sliced it and packed it in its gravy today for a Passover seder tomorrow. An hour reheat in its gravy and it should be tasty.

Oh, hell yes. I've smoked them (obviously) and baked them... but braising? What was your braising liquid? Beef stock would probably be yummy. When I bake it I usually use onion soup mix as a rub, then pack the pan with garlic and onions and cover with foil. Cook at 290 for 6 hours or so. Money.

Good Monday..... just another fun day.

Quite a few places like fast food, etc in this area are going cashless. Iffn' they won't take cash, I tell them I will shop elsewhere. Also many now want you to place your order with a kiosk instead of the counter but, of course, one of your choices as you pay up front is what % you want to tip usually starting no lower than 15% for the robots. Not talking

Raise the minimum wage to $15-20 an hour and guess what?? That's what's gonna happen... automation. If I am just grabbing stuff to go... you ain't gettin' a damn tip.

I will not patronize anywhere that automatically adds a tip. A tip is based on the quality or service received, no less no more. It seems to me that many places are going to automatic minimum gratuity. I now ask if that is the case before ordering. If it is I leave.

I haven’t, yet, run into a place that automatically adds a tip other than when there’s a large group. I can kinda, sorta accept that but iffin’ I was forced to tip on a takeout order, I would definitely stop going to that place.

Started out with a high of 87F, but it has quickly cooled down to 76F now and 56F tonight! No rain expected. Clouds are being forced away by whatever front came through and lowered the temps.as all the .

Wife stepped on my eyeglases last night so I had to go to Costco to get the to re-shape them. Might not need a new pair...

Got nothing planned for today. Might work on aquarium filter. Might not. We'll see.

Nice day out. Passed on an hour of OT to go home on time. Had grand plans to do some things but 40 minutes sitting in traffic sucked all the motivation outta me and I did nothing tonight.

My 20 year old Sony Dream Machine alarm clock with am/fm and dual alarms just gave up the ghost... I loved that alarm clock.

Let's see what garbage Amazon sends me to replace it.
