The original was at Pinnacle Peak (the mountain peak) outside of Scottsdale since 1957. They would cut off your tie iffn you wore one and hang it in the rafters. It closed in 2015 since that land became very expensive and is now multi-million dollar houses.

The one in Tucson is still operating. Mmmm, mesquite fired steaks.

We used to do Snowbird to Davis Monthan AFB in the winters so our Pilots could keep their flying hours up during snow season back in Illinois here... My sister lived out there in Tucson off Tanki Verdi road, not far from the Steakhouse so I'd at least make it to the place once or twice while we were out there for Stagings 3 weeks at a time... there Prime Rib was Awesome!!! I called out there last week to ask if they still do the if you can eat it your meals free... the person said No we stopped offering that years ago..

The California resturant walls were covered in cut off ties. We took some cousins from Iowa to dinner there, he was not happy to have his tie cut off, but he really could not believe their beef was all from Califonia.

Mesquite is a fantastic wood for grilling a steak.

I live in mesquite central.......West Texas.Landowners beg people to cut the mesquite off their property. So I gots plenty of wood for the pit and the smoker.Mesquite is big business around here, quite a few deliver to Lubbock and Amarillo at $450 A cord.Locals either cut it themself or pay $125 a cord.My chainsaw broke so I've bought the last couple years..........besides that dead mesquite is hard as nails, you gonna go thru some chains. You can cut green much easier if you don't mind waiting a year for it to season.

Friday morning folks.

Got a second estimate on a new HVAC and will prolly get one more. Been doing a little research on seer ratings and what they mean. It appears to me that they are about the same as mileage ratings on cars. YMMV depending on many factors and the manufacturers use the optimum example.

Mornin Ya'll.... Rainy Chitty Day here...ram27bat

I've gotta walk up to the Legion Fish Fry tonight to Fry up some Lent... Herfing this Chief of Police in this town is looking for an infraction against me... Paranoia? Fugg Know it's Called checking Your SIX.... Vigilant to your surroundings.

Shortly after a meeting One on one with the Mayor and him telling me "I have them by the Arse" that was last Wednesday at the local watering hole, and then a meeting with one of the Council Members (I took two witness's with me) he didn't expect that and All I asked from both these men in our Special Meeting for my rezoning. I brought to light these years of Zoning infractions that took place from previous council and zoning board members that spans Decades and that was and is continuing today... I left that meeting last Thursday afternoon with an offer from said council member, That if I give them a few months I will have my rezoning and a promise they would start cleaning out their Closet and be more Transparent Government.

By Noon on Thursday I get a call from a woman almost in tears, her Boyfriend (A Prominent Famrer and well known to this community) was getting out of Extended Care Living on March 1st and he and her have been served with a Letter from the Mayor to clean up "HER" property an OV and have been to court over said issue. her property is two streets over from ours and these events to her and her Boyfriend had just started on 12/19/2022 the City attorney in court proceedings 1/30/2023 moved the hearing date up to 5/8/23 and she and her Attorney do not know why because they were ready to clear this up before her Boyfriend was released to Home Care (She is a Home Nurse Certified BTW) and coming home March 1st.

Gent's this issue has gone above my GED education and My Pay Grade!!!

Her Case: https://judici.com/courts/cases/case_information.jsp?court=IL069015J&ocl=IL069015J,2022OV31,IL069015JL2022OV31D1

I directed her to the Attorney General's Office in Springfield Because no city council member would speak with her and one of them lives two houses up from her property? BUT One of the city Council Members did enquire from her what she was asking on the Property if she were to sell?

Latest on the job search:

Manufacturing/Process engineer with Avery Dennison. Phone interview last Tues went well with the HR so they set up a Zoom interview yesterday with hiring manager. That went well. This coming Tues is a 3rd interview for face to face with the senior management team and plant tour.

They want a hands on, on the floor problem solving engineer. Some of the ones that they had before were egocentric and didn't like getting dirty (this coming from the hiring manager). This facility had a shake up and kicked out some of the old school folks that didn't like change. They are bringing some fresh blood to get them current with the times. This facility is lagging behind in implementing ERP/MRP systems and a lot of stuff is still done on paper. They also are trying to implement and embrace a lean manufacturing culture.

Fingers crossed.

I uploaded photos on this womans Parcel this was after a excavating contractor had removed her home and filled in her basement that the Harrasment started... there are far more property's in this town that need cleaned up worse then her's

But I am drawing her up a materials list, and giving her an estmated cost to close this in for her and remove the tree... the Tree I told her will be going to my Sawer, and Im going to build her a Flag Case and Certificate frame out of her tree so she can have a memory of what they tried to do to her!!! She said her Nephew was deployed and he brought her a flag and certificate from his deployment a few years ago... I said Perfect! See How God Works!!! she was crying....

Cool and sunny this AM warming to above freezing. This is our 3rd warmest winter on record and I'm smoking more than I ever have in the winter season. Chit storm coming tonight starting with 2-4 inches of snow followed by varied frozen stuff and ending tomorrow with rain. Good morning to stay home. Heavy snow coming to the north of us.

Yep

It's kind of generic. I tailor and tweak my resume to try to match and focus on what the job description is looking for. If I get a bite, I'll send them a more polished version of my resume. I have probably 5 versions of it that focus on different areas of strength and key words.

Now days resumes for most jobs are screened through AI to pick out key works and stuff.

If you get a contact that finds interest, that's step one.

Step two is a screening interview (usually a phone interview from HR or a recruiter) to weed out the chaff of potential candidates. If you pass that gate, then go onto step three - a follow up interview.

Step three is usually a phone interview, Zoom interview, or face to face interview from the hiring manager and any others on the hiring team. Then they reconvene and narrow it down to the top 3 or so candidates.

Step four is usually a face to face interview with other members of the team and a plant tour. In this step, you've crossed the first three hurdles. They have decided on the top two or three candidates and are looking for reasons on why they should hire/or not hire you vs the other candidates.

Step five, they selected you and make an offer. Now negotiation for compensation package: Salary, bonuses, insurance, 401(k), PTO and all that jazz.

I'll accept any competitive offer in a stable company that wants to grow and improve. I'm not one that likes to sit on my hands and just drift along with the tide.

Anyone try archery as a hobby / sport for relaxation?

Watching an NHK World segment on Kyudo and seems to be a great way to center one’s mind and body.

Did archery in 6th grade as part of gym. Just target arrows and recurve bows. It was a common part of the curriculum where I grew up.

In 7th grade (Jr high) they offered hunter safety as an elective. You could bring in your 22 rifle on the bus, turn it in when you got to school and it was locked up into your hunter safety locker. Hunter safety course taught you the details of gun safety, how to clean them, and so forth. We even had an indoor firing rage for target practice (30 or 50 yd.. I forget).

Lot's of hunters in northern WI. In the fall, during deer season, it was almost a holiday. If you went hunting, you had to fill out a form and get it signed off from all of your teachers and co signed by your parents. Teachers would send school work and assignments home to do while you were deer hunting. I'm not a hunter but I would guestimate 1/3 of the student population at school were out hunting during deer season.

Local grocery store had boneless pork loins for $1.25/lb. Grabbed a 7 lb chunk. I would have bought two but I only have a standard freezer/refrigerator.

Probably cut it into thirds.

1/3 for a pig wrapped in pig (oven roasted loin wrapped in bacon)
1/3 for a crock pot pork roast, maybe pulled pork but the loin is not the best for pulled pork as it's too lean
1/3 for some boneless pork chops (shake and bake).

Signed Pork,
the other white meat that make chickens and turkeys jealous.

5:30 AM Masshole time... have about 8" of white stuff on the ground so far. Heavy wet snow. Good for snowball fights, snowman, and snow forts. Not so good if you have to shovel it.

One benefit of apt/condo living... I don't have to shovel. I can just sit inside and let the landscaping guys do it.

Got vetoed on the pig wrapped in pig last night. By popular vote it's crock pot chicken alfredo (again) for supper tonight. The kids like it but after three weeks of doing the same dish for the past three Saturdays, I'm getting tired of it. I'll will admit, though, the recipe I latched onto is pretty good. Maybe fry up a pound of bacon, crumble it and toss it in with the chicken alfredo.

Chicken, bacon, broccoli alfredo sounds pretty good to me.

I gots no major plans for the snowy weekend so I'll do the pork roast on Sunday. Hopefully I have some rosemary to add for rubbing my pork.

Have done quite a bit but many years ago with a Groves Flame Hunter. That is a recurve, I never got into compounds.
I built an archery range in my yard and did a fair amount of hunting as well.

<-------------- this guy was taken with that bow. Had a place in town BBQ the meat and it was delish!
