So, were the Chargers smart?

At first, I couldn't believe the Chargers traded away their chance at Michael Vick. But look what they've ended up with! LaDanian Tomlinson to run the ball and Drew Brees to quarterback. Not a bad day! HEY, does anyone know about this quarterback the Cowboys picked up -- Quincy Carter from Georgia?

I would like to be able to tell you he is the reincarnation of Fran Tarkinten, but I won't because I don't know a thing about him! Chargers did fine with draft, damn good job, for the Chargers; however, somewhere in this world they are going to have to come up with an offensive line, or they will get Tomlinson killed! Charlie

As A Tennessee Fan I know about Carter, he is about 1/2 of Michael Vick, 1/2 as fast (which is decent speed) and can't throw (1/2 if Vick again.

Chargers were way smart in not taking Vick. Pro game will not highlight his talents the way college did and when he is in the pros and everyone around him is also a star, he is not going to shine so bright. I'll admit to my Nebraska bias, but the Chargers also are getting the real deal with Carlos Polk at linebacker. I think fans there will be pleasantly surprised.

The Bolts are making a move back up the ladder this year. The Vick deal might someday come back to haunt them, but they needed help right now, and it looks like they got it. Charley, I hope to go back to KC for a Chiefs-Chargers game. Went last year and had a blast. Those are some great fans, and really good folks, especially out in that big 'ol parking lot before the game.

The Chiefs fans that tailgate do not care if you are a fan of the opposing team(as long as you are not a Raider fan)they treat visitors like guests and the damn aroma of the cooking in that parking lot is terrific! Wish more sports fans were like they are!

Traveling tailgating is an attitude. You'll get into trouble if you seek it. Otherwise, most people are going to give you crap, but in a friendly way. Anybody out there got tickets to the Pats/Broncos game on Oct 28th? Looking to go to Mile High. PLEASE !!

As a football coach in both the high school and colleges, I think the Bolts did a very nice job in their draft. Vick is a good QB,however he is young, avg height, great athletism, but on a so-so team and would have taken a huge hit on the salary cap. San Diego on the other hand took a gamble that paid off, getting the L-Train,WR-KR Tim Dwight(Atl trade), and the QB of the future(which is know..oops forgot you have Flutie) in the second round. Look for the Bolts to go after some quality Def people after the June 1st release date. They need help for Seau.

Coach, all of that is well and good; however, the area they need help the most in is offensive line! They have a line that could not block whatever level defense your current team is playing(high school or college) and that is the big bug a boo for the Chargers! They will be paying for Cryin' Leaf for years to come! Charlie
