Pedro is pitching tonight in Oakland and will probably be good for about 12 to 15 strikeouts. It is too bad the RedSox do not score runs for him when he takes the mound, as most of his games are cliffhangers and the opposing pitchers seem to get up and pitch their best when they are going against him! How would you guys rate him against the all time pitchers? Charlie

Good question. Pedro is definately the best pitcher in baseball today. But in order to carve out his place in history he will have to continue his greatness. What makes his statistics so amazing is not the absolute number of strikeouts or the actual ERA he achieves, but rather how easily he distances himself from the rest of the pack in these categories. A couple more seasons like this, and I'd put him in there with just about anyone.
