for anyone who might have missed my misplaced message, incorrectly posted on the cigar board at least twice, "no new posts? are we going to sit by and let shrub destroy the enviornment, allow corporations to determine are destinies, and turn this country into an oligarchy(not exact but close enough for government work) to which you replied, "If your going to post political propaganda & studid drival I'd suggest you post it in the correct forum. Try and stay on subject here, this is a bb for cigar related subjects. Perhaps we could discuss the special "humidor/aide" the prior occupant of the White House used for his sticks? And then could we cover the lies he told trying to hide the truth from the voters" political propaganda and stupid drivel? no. clinton is gone, not there any more. what the hell (ok word?) difference does his humidor/aid have to do with today? now? the present? he's gone. he lied, he took ash tray's, he took the hangers. the only one i can remember that left clean, was truman. everyone knows bush jr is and was the class party boy. the guy who could get you la*d, get you a fix, tell the jokes. he can hardly put a sentence together, so he reads what has been written for him. they will soon figure out a way to replace cheeny's arm up his rear, with a hidden mike so that cheeny can talk through shrub and sound like him. shrub is an insult to the office. he is an example of the worst america can produce, the worthless son of a former worthless president, buys the country and rewards his investors. "when you think about this later, and you will, please be kind."

Meat? What meat? You claim he is going to ruin the environment. How? You claim he'll be the reason corporations will ruin America. How? You then go into a long babbling tirade about how worthless he is SIMPLY because he is a Presidents son. Why? Don't you think it is hypocritical to call Bush an insult to the office after your lying **** occupied it for 8 years? Don't you think it's ironical that the environmental issue that gets the most negative press is the Arsenic in the water supply, When your ol' boy Clinton waited until his last day to implement the newer, stricter, impossible to achieve lower numbers? I'm not asking you to accept Dubya without question. It is healthy to debate issues. Please include one in you next post. Oh, and by the way, congrats on getting it on the right board!

Refusing to bring the US in line w/ international community on safe arsenic levels in drinking water in favor of bladder, lung and skin cancer.
"The current standard, set in 1942, allows a maximum of 50 parts per billion. Last year, the Environmental Protection Agency recommended reducing that to 5 parts per billion as demanded by many environmentalists, but President Clinton directed that the standard be set at 10 parts per billion.

The Bush administration says it will withdraw the Clinton standard, which would have taken effect later this year.

Health and environmental groups have been campaigning since 1996 to reduce the standard. The EPA acted as part of a court settlement after the National Academy of Sciences found in 1999 that arsenic in drinking water can cause bladder, lung and skin cancer, and might cause liver and kidney cancer."

Abandons campaign pledge to reduce CO2 emissions and actually increases them to satisfy contributors.
"Under pressure from GOP conservatives, President Bush is backing off from a campaign pledge to regulate carbon dioxide from power plants as part of a broad strategy to address climate change and other air pollution.

The shift, occurring just days before three moderate Republican lawmakers were to introduce legislation that would require limits on such carbon dioxide releases."

Proposes drilling in National Parks, so that future generations can also learn about the dangers oil spills. Also opens our National Parks to logging and mining and ensures that they will not be accountable for cleanup of clear-cutting or strip mining.

Is there more?

tailgator i am on the right board and the right track. who said he was my old boy clinton and/or my lying ****.. i did not vote for him or even like him. i did not say shrub was worthless simply because he is a former presidents, i did not say he was worthless. i implied he is a dope, who has gotten by because he is the son of a former preisdent who has lots of money. nothing wrong with a lot of money unless you buy your son an election using the dirty tactics that were used. the whole first half of the run was dirtied when the lies about mccane not caring about breast cancer, a distortion (lie) that put him out of the picture. the second half was of course thw florida coup de'tat.

Where to begin. First-you don't graduate from Yale if you are a dope! You don't become President of the United States of America because you are a dope! You certainly would not form the best cabinet in the last 30 years if you are a dope. And it doesn't take a dope to realize that hastily signed last minute legislation and pardons are well thought out(they are not and were not)! GWB is going to have the proper legislation regarding the drinking water inacted and he is not going to poison children! Why don't you Liberals give the man a chance without crying foul or repeating what Gephardt and Dashel barf from their useless mouths at every opportunity. We finally have a President and Vice President with integrity and we will not have all the "Criminals" serving in appointed posts and positions throughout the government as a result of "old boy" and buddy pay backs like we put up with under the Clintons! And congratulations for hitting the correct board! Charlie

unkle I am very disappointed in you using that arsenic rubbish. You know, all these years it was at 50 parts per million, all reputable science considered that fine. All through the Clinton years it was at this level, never any word out of anyone about it being dangerous. Then at the 11th hour, Clinton drastically lowered it, knowing full well the headaches this would cause Bush. Bush simply wants to keep it where sound science has had it, and where it has been all through the Clinton years. Implementing Clinton's decree would have a huge price tag, for little if any benefit. Democrats seldom consider the cost versus benefit ratio.

by the way Rik, the dirty tactics in Florida, the whole mess contesting the election was all orchestrated by Gore. He is the one that wanted to dump the military votes, directed all the appeals, and everything else, while he pretends to be in seclusion.

finally, I dispute your premise that we are destroying the environment, and all the hype surrounding global warming.

Abs, I couldn't have said it better myself! Additionally, tapping our own lands for fossil fuels is not some plot to destroy the ecosystem as the LIBERAL media would have you think. It is instead an attempt to become more self sufficient and to rely less on OPEC. As for the CO2 issue, Uncle did bring up ONE good point. Dubya should not have rescinded a campaign promise. But Uncle, it's only been a short time. I believe Bush will re-evaluate and eventually determine the best solution to this dilema as well. If not, he could simply wait until his last day and pass some obscure regulation which would cripple the new administration. Oh, wait, that's been done...

Please note that nearly all of Florida's election boards are run by elected DEMOCRATS. That included the counties on the east coast that were so often referred to as STOLEN by Bush. The papers in FLA just finished a recount themselves, using the standard always used in the past & even a slightly more liberal standard Bush actually increased his lead. Using the loosest standards possible, one of which allowed the person counting to guess, based on how the voter cast his vote in other races, how the voter most likely would have cast his vote if he had the brains to read the ballot and punch a pen thru a precut card. Only when the counting was allowed to be subject to opinion and ESP did Gore win.

curious how the media has been all but silent on these recounts in Florida conducted privately. I suspect if these recounts showed Gore would have one, Dan Rather and all his cronies would be wetting their pants in hyping up this as the top story on their nightly so called news cast.

Yes it is curious how the media has just hushed up and will keep counting until they can "elect" that statue in their own corrupt minds. Gore would have been swamped if it had not been for the Gore operative in Maine that broke the story on the old arrest of Bush. Why don't you leftist just conceed that the right man won and is in office. Oh, I forgot about the distinguished Mr Daschel and Gephardt who will do anything to undermine the Bush administration-maybe they will be voted out of office by people sick and tired of their dirty and corrupt political whinning.
