Ok guys........a challenge of sorts. I would like to see who you consider the best 5 all time pitchers. The reason for the number of choices is that over the years the sports have changed and the participants have gotten more physically developed and so on. So let's see if you can select your top 5. The following are guys I either saw pitch or watched on TV:
Bob Gibson, Sandy Koufax, Nolan Ryan, Tom Seaver and Pedro Martinez. Like I said I saw em on TV or in Person. Yes I know there was Dizzy Dean, Cy Young, Christy Mathewson, Carl Hubbel, Satchel Paige etc...but this is my list and my post so you start another one and I will jump on that one to....Great new board. Charlie, your english is terrible. It should be: "What are the greatest Pichers ever?" And I would answer 1. Bass Ale 2. Harpoon IPA 3. Sam Adams Boston Lager 4. Sierra Neveda Pale Ale 5. Guiness Stout...

I know I'm late but,,,, greatest pitcher I ever saw and met was J.R. Richard. 303 strike outs one year, the next year 313. A record that stood till two years ago. Career shortened by a stroke on the mound. Still plays ball in the Houston area. The nicest guy in baseball I ever met and I've met a few. The interesting thing was listening to talk radio when they interviewed players who batted against him. Most would simply say the just wanted to get the hell out of there cause he didn't have the greatest control. But to see him play was incredible. Who knows what he would have done.
