^ I like everything I’ve had from OF. Currently have a bottle of the 100 proof. The bonded is also pretty good stuff

Evan Williams bonded. Mellower than I expected. Easy drinker not bad at all. Around this price point I’m grabbing old grandad bonded. Prolly won’t buy again but glad I picked this up anyhow. Certainly don’t hate it

Went to the Exchange this morning. Apparently their allocated stuff shows up Tuesday mornings...

Eagle Rare 10 year for $32, limit 1 per customer. I didn't have the wife with me... d'oh! .

However, I paid and took my cache out to the truck, then went back inside, grabbed another and went to the register on the other side of the store. Angel

Well played... Suprised there was another bottle still available when you went back in.

I used to try to get in line at my Total Wine on Wednesday mornings (when they received the BT allocated delivery) to buy a bottle. The line had 10 people and the store usually had four bottles.

There had to be 30 bottles on the end cap shelf. And I guarantee all were gone a few hours later.

When they had blanton's a few weeks ago the guy in front of me in line got the last one. They kept those bottles behind the register... limit 1 per, and they made damn sure of it. Had some sort of Booker's back there, too... never heard of it, so passed.

Four Roses Small Batch Select.

Two of them.

Actually................ Drank an ounce (a nap took me) then went at it.

I'm all but done with it now.

^Been there, done that... was fun.

2 pours of the Eagle Rare. I liked it neat. I liked it better cold with a big, slow melting cube. Even better with just a small cube and less watered down.

So now I know... 2 oz pour, small cube.

Widow Jane The Vaults Aged 14 Years, 99 proof

This is a gifted bottle and I finally decided to have a few pours the past couple of nights. Did not know what to expect but the more I had the more I enjoyed it. It is not a bottle that I would have purchased due to the price point but I'm glad I have had the opportunity to give it a try.

I also enjoy the Four Roses offers and especially their Small Batch Select. The Limited Editions are usually hard to find or they have been for me. The 2017 bottle is the only one that I have seen in the wild. I was gifted a 2023 bottle for Christmas but have not opened yet.

Just knowing you and your issues with hot bourbon..... you would probably never survive that rabbit hole lol
The majority of Bookers are very good but are pretty damn hot on the finish. Our mentally disturbed buddy ZRX describes it as "Delicious jet fuel" and ...... He's not wrong.

Got a bottle of Makers Mark cask strength the other day for $30 (like I need more bourbon d'oh! ) ..... been sipping on it the last few days along with making a few 2 ingredient Old Fashioned's

I know you like to mess with me about the high proof stuff, but I don't really mind it if it's not, like Ralph Wiggum would say... "It tastes like burning!"

Flavor matters. OGD 114 is tasty to me. It can be hot... just can't burn every part of my mouth.

Same with hot sauce. I can stand the heat if it's not so hot it ruins the taste.

Did the same... somebody told me that sh*t (Evan Williams bottled in bond) was good. Was awful, but ginger ale helped me finish off the bottle. Good thing it's under $20... cuz it ain't even worth that.

Smooth ambler contradiction Has an elephant standing on a barrel on the bottle and had won some awards. I will buy more when I’m back in that area

Last night it was Knob Creek 12 at 100 proof. I found it to be very drinkable and this one is not for you if you are looking for a big spice kick in the face.

The previous few nights it was Widow Jane The Vaults Aged 14 Years, and McKenna single barrel.

I did find a bottle of the McKenna single barrel at the NAS this past week at $59 and some change. It was only a few years ago when this was a $30 bottle and easy to find.
