went to dentist to get a chipped front tooth fixed...didn't like the Jim Carrey Dumb and Dumber smile...power outage about halfway through the grinding of the tooth...20 minutes later, Dentist was gonna put a patch on it and call it a day...he started applying glue when the power came back on...he resumed grinding and by then, the lidocaine was wearing out...last 15-20 minutes had moments of sharp and intense pain...sweating profusely when he finished...hope the end result will be worth it...

I have to forgive him...he's my wife's brother...he rarely bills us for the part of the bill the insurance doesn't cover...been going to him for over 40 years, when he finished dental school...he's a much better dentist now.

I spent $1200 on a crown a couple months ago. Cracked tooth causing a ton of pain, super cold sensitive couldn't hardly brush my teeth on that side couldn't chew on that side. Still can't chew on that side, searing pain with any cold touch on that side, brushing my teeth with warm water. Did nothing.

But I've already maxed out my dental insurance benefit for the year so I have to wait till next year.

Wish I was going to listen to live music, but at least headed to the shpo after this porch cigar and dinner for music, pool, drinking, smoking, and various debaucheries. Nother awesome thing about this shpo he stays open til at least midnight on Friday nights. 2-3 am if he's drinking too lol and one Christmas party we all decided it was time to go home because the sun was coming up.

Dude... You shouldn't be in pain, sounds like root canal time...and another crown to replace the one they just put on but won't be able to reuse after the root canal. If you have to pull it then you can't have a cigar for like a week. Sucks to be you :)

I've had all sorts of dental work over the years and it all sucks, some less, some more. Good luck

My older brother (RIP) was the model of poor dental care and paid for it in his later years. We went to the same dentist (…a boyhood buddy of his…) and he would tell me about my brother’s poor teeth and gums. Probably shouldn’t have (…patient confidentiality and all that…) but it motivated me to floss daily, brush at least twice a day and get my teeth cleaned every 6 months.

I see / hear about people having to do root canals, implants, dentures, etc. and I don’t want any part of that!

Normally I hate going to the dentist, but the one up here is pretty cool. He's a boomer, from this area, and always has jokes. Funny guy. He said my teeth looked good for my age...but idk, clearly the two he had to drill and fill weren't doing so good. Lol!

Bought a couple more fruit trees, an apple and a peach. My goal is to at least buy two per season. We have 3 apple and 2 peach now...

Some of the seeds we started 6 days ago are already starting to sprout. Got several different kinds growing in less than a week.

Over and out.

Sometimes I grind my teeth at night and for years didn't want to hear about a night guard mouth guard but now I don't sleep as well without it. Stopped me from snoring too, just a cheap $25 night guard from the drug store. I wish I would have listened and got one 30 years ago.

I've always been one to brush my teeth two three times a day. I rarely floss but it was years and years of frequent vomiting that did my teeth in. Was like that since I was a small child, didn't know it was abnormal until I was mid 20's. Big hiatal hernia and apparently not everyone has constant gastric reflux either... Got scoped, got on meds, all good now. But it stripped the enamel from all my toofs.

I buy floss by the 6 pack. It's in my den, bathroom, garage, tacklebox... I have 30 of my 32 teeth. Top wisdoms are gone.

If I eat anything, it gets stuck. So I floss a lot. Brush morning and evening... and as needed.

Slept pretty good until the dog had to pee. I took the opportunity to do the same and then I slept really good again until almost 7am... with the dog laying next to my leg.

Time for the morning ritual... coffeed up, emptied out. Tank's turn...

Got some beef in da crock pot. Stew meat, garlic, onions and a packet of onion soup mix and a stick of butter. Will add taters, carrots, peas and mushrooms later. Mmmmmm... beef stew.

Grocery shopping done. Found ground beef for $2.50/lb so I got 20lbs

Eye of round for $3 bought one for jerky

Another store has chucks for $3 but I don't feel like driving that far and got plenty briskets in freezer. Do need to get out there by April 10 got a coupon for a free turkey from work that expires. Not a big fan of turkey but I am a fan of free food.

Went to carwash despite the snow.

Am going through 80% the same as you. Also, my dental max is going to be done once my oral surgery/tooth rebuild/temp crown/final crown is completed.

Had sensitivity on the tooth for about 8 months before the tooth fractured. Was not getting it taken care of in a timely fashion for the same reason you are hesitating.

57 years without a crown, now three in 16 months. There is another tooth now acting up as well. No easy answers.

Was at what I’d call a Relief Wake yesterday.
74 year old friend of the family died after fighting four different cancers over 20 years.
Bladder, Breast, Kidney and Bone.

He was like the Monty Python Black Knight.

Happy his pain is over and he joins his son who died seven years ago.

Woke up to a couple inches of snow. I thought that stuff was all done. It'll melt away and wash away since weather folks are saying it will turn to rain in the 40's today.

As for teeth, I had one in the back that was giving me issues a few years ago so the dentist advised me to just extracted it. It didn't hurt too much since he numbed it up nicely. A few wads of cotton to soak up the blood for a day and prescribed me 800 mg tablets of ibuprofen to kill the pain as needed. I think I only needed them for a day. It was a rather simple procedure. The extra hole in my head (jaw) healed up just fine in a couple of days.

I even got a free toothbrush, toothpaste and some dental floss (winning!) but they didn't give me a lollypop (sigh).

Teeth issues. I had very bad oral hygiene in my early years so at about age 15 I went to a dentist and had a complete evaluation. After reviewing all the issues he asked me if I wanted to have all my teeth pulled and go with dentures or start a program to correct everything. I was shocked!

We designed a program where I came in once a week for about 2 months and each visit would be to work on one specific area of concern. I had no insurance and during summers worked on a golf course for $1.35 / hour so I paid on a schedule.

Since then I have paid close attention with brushing, flossing and cleanings but after 50+ years even his best efforts have had to be repaired and in some cases I have had to go with implants which were expensive but well worth it.

Prolly have enough invested in my teeth to buy a Tesla or two. d'oh!

Rainy, dreary and cold best describes the weather at Hivelyland today.

A positive from that is I won't feel guilty for not working on one of several outdoor projects we have to do.

Just going to hang out. Have some bbq chicken cooking in the crockpot. Might have a cigar later.

Supposed to be sunny and no rain tomorrow. Going to change the oil and gas in the tiller. Plus got to switch the wheels around on it. Apparently the worker, at Home Depot, that assembled the machine back in 2010, put the rim on with the air valve stem on the inside. The old-timer that sold the tiller to me pointed it out... It's just one bolt to take off and flip the rim around...easy fix.
