The Bears only got a 5th round pick for him? Quite a fall. He’s probably a middle of the pack or better QB vs the rest of the starters in the. NFL.

Putting all their eggs in the Caleb Williams basket isn’t something I would do. There have been far more USC flop QBs than success stories.

A 6th that could turn into a 4th, depending on playing time. Man, once you show the League that you can’t live up to your potential, you’re literally worthless. I’mma sure the Steelers are hoping it doesn’t turn into the latter and Justin can be still be “fixed”.

As far as Da Bears go, they still SUCK!

They did right by him and traded him where he wanted to go, this was poor compensation IMO as I think he is salvageable but the low return was part of the price of giving him his ask. That does show players they’re doing right by them, again shown by extending JJ.

Headed the right way despite piss poor cheap owners.

Won’t matter, Da Bears will still end up in 4th place.

Sneed to the titans for a 3rd and swapping 7's? Seems a little cheap to me, but okay. Probably couldn't afford to pay him.

Hip drop tackle outlawed.

Man, have any of these people ever tried to tackle someone from behind? Too many non-football people running football. Brick wall

All in the name of player safety.

Safety my arse!

Iffin’ they were REALLY concerned about the players welfare, they’d cutback on the number of games played, like all the way down to 14! Start the season later when the weather is cooler and end in middle-ish January so that even the last two teams standing can have a decent off-season.

In addition to a reduction of games, no more Thursday games! The 3-day turnaround is absolutely ridiculous! Again, too many non-football people running football. Chasing the $$$.

Okay, back to your regularly scheduled programming….

Yeah that’s gonna make an already poorly called sport even worse.

I guess they were running low on options to get the teams they want into the SBowl.

MACS that low trade value was due to his cost for sure, look at what Mhommie is getting and they just sign Mr Bo Dangles at the combine to a big money extension.they couldn’t afford him and field any depth.

Stefon (…not “StephAn”…) Diggs to the Texans for, what looks like, a 2nd round pick in 2025 for a 6th rounder this year and a 5th in 2025.

Not sure how Buffalo fans feel about the trade but from the outside, it sure looked like it was time for Diggs to go. Prima Donna wide receiver. Wants the ball on every pass play. Wants the money to be the highest paid for his position. Probably even wants to be “the face” of the franchise. Kinda glad the Bills moved on, was getting tired of the drama.

^ yeah I am a bit stumped they didn’t keep Gabe Davis?

They have 11 draft picks this year.

Guessing it was salary cap related as to why the Bills didn't try to keep Davis. Plus, Davis is a Florida boy, probably wanted to go back home too.

Ultimately Josh Allen's big contract and the fact that you can't pay everyone probably played a part in Buffalo's housecleaning. Life in pro sports these days....

Players like Diggs kill locker rooms. Though a talented player I would not want him on my team.

Another mystery, Houston gave up a 2 and a 6 next year for him, and VOIDED the final 3 years so he’s free agent eligible at the end of the season?

Buffalo has 35 mil dead money this year over it and is currently sitting at 6 mil in cap space so yeah on Davis.

One year rental.

Not sure I understand their rationale but obviously the Texans are gambling that Diggs plays like his hair is on fire and behaves this season. With Collins on the last year of his rookie contract, he’s gonna wanna be paid too so that mighta factored in the decision to void out Diggs’ last three years.

2nd rounder in a WR DEEP draft? I think the kid from Florida State Keon Coleman is gonna go in the 2nd and be the steal of the draft. Also Michigan’s RB Corum is gonna be a bargain too I think a year from now (probably going to the Chargers)

Smart on the part of the Texans, actually. He's a locker room cancer. Minnesota dumped him when he got stupid... did good in Buffalo and then they dumped him when he got stupid.

See how he does, and more importantly how he acts... then go from there with absolutely NO committment or damage to the cap structure.

With that extra 2nd rounder, Bills could use it to move up in the draft but dunno how desperate they are to get a WR to fill up that room. When I look at Green Bay’s young receivers (…none drafted higher than the 2nd day…), I don’t think Buffalo has to overreach for a wideout.

I think good wide receivers will be available through the early portion of the third round. This is a great draft which runs deep for quarterbacks, wide receivers, offensive linemen, and cornerbacks.

Iffin’ any of you are Bill Belichick fans, he’s gonna be on the Pat McAfee Show on Draft Night. Bill will give his team and player analysis, even calls to GMs after they make their pick are on the docket. Iirc, the Pre-Draft show will start at 1:30 pm EST and broadcast on one of the ESPN channels or streamed on YouTube.

^That should be fun.

Saw the reports that Kraft sabotaged Bill getting hired at a couple other spots. That's some appreciation for the man winning you 6 f'n Lombardi trophies... ungrateful doosh.

And before anyone says it was Tom... no the hell it wasn't. It was both of them. Many of those teams won with defense and that was all Bill.

Bill had a great run, it seemed to be over. I am surprised no one wanted him as head coach. The only reason I can think of is he wanted control of personal, including the draft. Tom won a super bowl without Bill. Bill did not win a Superbowl without Tom. Though I fully believe they each benefited from the other being there.

The Brand New Lions make Amon-Ra St. Brown the highest paid REC at $30 mil per year with $77 mil guaranteed 4 year extension. Also make OT Penei Sewell the highest paid OL with a $112 mil extension, $85 mil guaranteed, also 4 year term.

QB Jared Goff up next.

Dee-troit gonna hafta make the Super Bowl soon, otherwise their salary cap is gonna undermine the depth of the team. They’ll be good but not a legit SB contender.

One round down, 6 more to go.

Most surprising pick hadda be Penix going 8th to Atlanta. Over / Under for Kirk Cousins is 3-1/2 years.

Not a surprise - no running backs selected today.

Good situation for Penix. Sit and learn and don't get thrown to the wolves. He has an arm, a great deep ball and touch.

I don't think he should have gone 8th... but I think he might have been lucky to go to a team with an established QB so he has time to learn and adjust. Just my $.02

Chiefs picked a small, speedy receiver from Texas (Worthy)
Would have preferred the South Carolina WR (Legette). He’s a taller, bigger version of Sterling Sharpe.

They are probably thinking Worthy will be the second coming of Tyreek Hill.

Packers picked a T-Rex. Big body, short arms. Thought arms are kinda important defending against raging bull pass rushers. (Shrug).

ATL crapped the bed.

You have Kirk Cousins signed and paid for more than 4 seasons. Draft someone he can throw the ball to, nope...they draft a QB! Not only a QB, but a QB made out of glass!

"Penix’s time at Indiana saw him face four consecutive season-ending injuries, enduring two ACL tears and experiencing joint dislocations in both shoulders."

Wasted 1st Round pick right there. If you're not going to get a guy for Kirk to throw to then get one that's going to block for him! ATL looked really dumb passing on The Hoodie...and THIS....shows.

But Hey....lookie Philly go!!!!!whip

I don’t think they wasted their pick I think they reached, he’s a good dude and a great player who fought through injuries. They have an awesome back who can catch, a first round pick #1 receiver and a first round pick TE who’s basically a receiver, and they picked up Mooney a solid X/slot receiver in FA.

They probably could have traded down and risked not getting their guy but I think this was a long play.

Dan Orlovsky said on today’s Pat McAfee Show that the Falcons had Penix rated as the #2 QB (…Jayden Daniels was #1…) so for them to take him as the 4th QB shouldn’t necessarily be seen as a complete surprise. But of course, no one outside of the Atlanta draft room knew that so to us as well as the draft “experts” it was shocking and seemingly stoopid. If you like a guy and the value is there, gotta take him. Obviously the Falcons felt they had to get him now rather than take a chance for later. Also on the show, Michael Lombardi thinks Penix was a luxury pick and railed on the selection so differences of opinions abound.

Having lived through the Jordan Love pick and being totally mystified at the time, all I can say is, let’s wait until Cousins is out and Penix becomes QB#1 before we really judge the Atlanta pick.

Coach Morris said it... they want to win now, and they're trying to. They got Cousins and weapons for him. The plan is to win the division and get to the playoffs. They don't plan to be picking that high again so they had to grab their guy right now.

Makes sense to me. They've got picks in the rest of the draft to get what else they need.

^ agreed.

Falcons for Trice, that’s a solid pick up in a need spot for them.

Chargers are quietly having a great draft, Cards are doing good too, kinda pissed the Bears didn’t trade into the 2nd round. Still need a center, an edge and I would like them to grab Dorlus from Oregon.

Curious if the Bolts grab Blake Corum next pick, Nevermind! My daughter has Romeo & Juliet tonight and tomorrow my phone was on airplane mode.

Hope he turns out to be a stud in the back. One thing that’s apparent, Gutey sure likes those Georgia players.
