Good Wednesday Morning to All! It's 81° on the way to 89° today. It's range time, loading more ammo, and a Costco run on the agenda.

HHD Ram and dudes.

Had a little adventure this morning. Woke up at 4am and needed to get coffeed up and out early for the morning walk. It was dark in the bedroom so I fumbled for my shorts and felt around to determine front from back and managed to get my left foot in correctly. I have never been limber and getting old with a bad knee my routine has been to hold the waistband up and make a quick stab with the right foot to complete the task. Unfortunately I slightly missed and the waistband got caught between the big toe and the next. In this split second I knew I was going down and the only was question was whether to take a header into a chair or fall backwards on the carpet so I crumpled onto my back and rolled up with my legs flailing in the air like an overturned turtle. WHUMP.

The wife reached over and turned on the nightstand light and gave me a look that I can only describe as devoted admiration .... or something close.

You should make her understand the split second decision making skill it took to avoid debilitating injury. Admiration takes proper marketing

DED... Whew! Electricity is not that expensive, turn on a light, and please, consider putting one hand on a dresser or sink to steady yourself.

After seeing and hearing about the series of diggers my dad took, trying to do exactly what you are explaining, I'm swallowing my pride, setting my ass on the mattress, and pulling up my pantaloons like an old man.

About 5 years ago, dad got into a battle with a tee shirt he was trying to put on, lost his patience, took a fall ending in a broken shoulder.

No damage taken on your part?

So Shawney MACS, Tank and I made a trip to the tackle shop to grab some line and some bait. Then it off to the Navy PX because I needed a pair of swim trunks for the neighborhood pool. They had a sale so I walked out with 3 pairs and two tees. Then we headed back to his hacienda and prepped our rods and reels. Then we donned our swimwear and headed down to the pool, but it was closed. Back to the house, then a trip to Jersey Mike’s for lunch. Afterwards I took a nap in a man cave chair. Just got a confirmation text that the fishing trip is confirmed for tomorrow.

By the way, remember that guy who yesterday implied I was a lightweight. Well when we headed out earlier I asked if he had some rum, because if not I’d buy some alone with some mint, limes and soda water so I could make some mojitos. His response: “I drank some beers and bourbon yesterday. I’m good for about a week.”

FWIW, he's already in bed. I'm still in the man cave. Who's the lightweight???

That said, it's time for me to call it an evening. The bell rings at 05:00 and we pull out at 06:00. At the dock for 07:00 and underway by 08:00.

Arrrrrrrg matie.

300 buns and 2.5 gallons of coleslaw was the last of the things I needed to get before tomorrow.

Poor mini fridge in the garage has 130lbs of meat in there. Had to bungee the door shut to keep it all in.

Cleaned the smokers before I smoked some chickens yesterday for the halal/kosher boys and bought a bunch of vegan stuff too for those weirdos.

Not sure if I'm going to be able to fit everything in the Ridgeline. This was so much easier when I had a camper. Last year I bought a bed extender for the Ram to make it fit. But the Ram with the toolbox left me with the same size bed as I have now plus the Ridgeline trunk under the bed floor. I've already filled the trunk. Sposeda rain later and I'd like to wash it before I leave so I don't want to load the truck yet. Backup plan is bring 8 cases of water to a buddy 30 minutes south and have him take it up. He's got an RV so there's room.

The official score was 6-4 with MACS taking the victory. 5 vermilion snapper and 1 ring tail. Also caught a nice red snapper that had to go back in... can't keep them. Abrignac finished the day with 4 vermilion snapper on his stringer.

I won't tell you 1 of them was mine. BigGrin

All in all a decent day. We smoked a cigar, caught some fish and shot the sheit with other fishermen. I have never been on that boat and struggled to get limits, but today we struggled a bit.

Momma was the real winner... she got 10 fish in her freezer.

Was a tough day of fishing, but sometimes it happens that way. Otherwise, I had a great time. You know what they say about a bad day of beats the best day at work.

Not sure Momma was the winner though. I was fed some excellent food and MACS, the Mrs and Tank are hands down the best hosts and hostess a traveler could hope for.

All in all, I’ve always felt welcome and have throughly enjoyed every minute that I’ve spent with them. Looks like I’ll be leaving in the morning but, I can’t wait to visit again.

Mornin Ya'll...

Bet most of ya thought I'd fell off the edge of the Earth while some of you'd probably wished I'd had.. d'oh!

The Mrs and I had an Amazing Run this year... 5 days of Anniversary lounging in Key Largo and running the Keys.. I got burnt the first day of lounging on the beach with a 12 pack and hazey sky's.. couldn't wear socks nor pants for the following two days.. d'oh! then it was off to Key West and visiting with a former co-worker in the military and his family. we got to witness History in the Making with he and his wife as "Projrct Neptune 100 days" happened on our final day in Key Largo...

https://youtu.be/cRKY4230Mhg

there are many more videos on this adventure and what this Dr. is doing to help with TBI's on Military and others...

We traveled 3520 miles and 11 States visited on this run in 15 days. met some good people all along our route and new friends going forward... visited with family for a couple days in Ocoee FL. then moved North and sat on the beach for a couple days in Jacksonville FL to await the storms rolling through GA, FL and NC from the Alabama area.. watched some dude wig out right in front of us.. dropped his pants and started packing sand up his Arse as he cussed Jesus... then ran down the beach, stripped off nekked and started swimming for England... got so far out the rip tide caught him and Baywatch showed up to rescue the nutjob... took over an our to land him back to shore where the cops handcuffed him and put him in their truck only putting his hat back on his head...Brick wall the next day we ventured up into GA. only to see the same nutjob at the GA welcome center still cussing Jesus and disrupting folks at the center with his outbursts and antics...
guess the FL PD dropped him off as a GA problem now...d'oh! Brick wall Herfing

made it to Savhanna before getting hit with storms, run the US and state routes until a big one settled us in at Waynsboro GA for the evening... next morning all clear and we made it into Maggie Valley/Smokey Mts. to visit Dales Wheels Through Time Museum a MUST SEE Amazing place!!! the next morning we were on the road to run the Tail of the Dragon.. 318 curves in 11 miles... mule was packed down even for the run home... been trying for 3 years to get the Mrs. to run this with me and finally we can check it off our **Bucket List** only caught the highway peg 4-5 times on the run, but to hear the Mrs. tell it.. we were dragging the tail pipes!!! LOL

Next year we've decided to adventure out west to Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, 4 corners etc...

Welcome back, sounds like a great adventure. We visited Yellowstone a couple of years ago, we had a great time. When you drive though the park you don't see much, you need to pull off into parking areas and see dirt roads to see the good stuff. I'd recommend you take one of the bus tours out of West Yellowstone to at least the lay of the land.

I'm planning on running her up the face of the Big Horns and through the pass back down the other side Bear Tooth and Chief Josephs Hwy which will put us around the west entrance of Yellowstone and Cody WY area.. still testing her nerves as we venture up elevation catching curves and then 8% grade on decent...
