A blimp just flew over the house advertising for “D ick’s Sports”.

They may need to rethink that slogan.

I can get a 50' snake from HD for about $35. Might get one of them bladder thingies... looks like it'll work.

I'd try a hose first. If you can get to the far end and it's a fairly straight run, 1/2" PVC with a female hose fitting glued on works pretty well too.

Hell, I have a 50' garden hose... that may even do it. I won't know until I feel like giving it a try. Maybe tomorrow. I've already taken a shower and don't want to get all sweaty.

It's a plastic tube with small holes in it for drainage. It's 4-6 inches in diameter. Black in color.

When we finally get around to our landscaping project, we intend on doing French Drains to help with getting water away from the house. Not sure if we’re gonna use a perforated pipe or just gravel for the redirect.

Gray day this morning. Supposed to get some Sun in the late morning then a few passing thunderstorms after lunch.

On the schedule today my plan is to make some curry chicken - I have a new recipe that I want to try. I'll prolly also make a batch of spaghetti sauce. Make enough of both to feed the masses and have some leftovers for lunches this week.

Work has been fun. We're gonna have to make some design changes on some of our furniture products as a result of changes in government and consumer product safety protection regulations. It not only impacts us but all manufacturers that sell things like dressers and armoires/wardrobes meant to be used for clothing storage in the US. The STURDY (Stop Tip-overs of Unstable, Risky Dressers on Youth) act comes into play on these items made on and after Sept 1st.

Morning folks. No bourbon trail here but we did hit two breweries yesterday along the Columbia river.

Today looks like hike to waterfall, breakfast and farmers market and a wind surfers regatta.

57/90 here

Another July day on the gulf coast. High around 90 today with 50% chance of rain/storms. I took our two Husky's for a very short walk at 0730 and the humidity was already 90%.

And today is not going to be a good day. We are having to put down our male Husky (old guy) late this afternoon. He is at least 15 and maybe a few months over. He was a rescue and was around two when we took him into our house in Oct 2009. He is down in his hips and age has caught up with him. We feed him filet last night and again morning for a special treat. If it had been up to me he would have crossed the rainbow bridge a few months earlier but the wife was not ready. And then to top things off, she brings up the fact that it has been a year and a day since we had to put his mate down.

Oh well, they are like family and in many cases a lot more likable than some humans we cross paths with.

Peace be with you, Burner. Been on the ride more times than I prefer to remember.
The day you get them, the clock starts ticking. My wife also holds onto our dogs well past their time. That is what is hardest for me. Seeing the look in a dog’s eyes when they’ve had enough, asking you to help- but we can’t.

Wife actually admitted that if we didn’t spend the money to amputate the leg of a past greyhound, she would have held it against me probably forever. So the leg went off, he lived another miserable week, then she decided it was time. Brick wall

Well, it does NOT have holes in it. It's plastic tubing that bends, but it's corrugated. I was able to get my arm down in there to feel where the blockage was. The bastids kinked it when they installed it... I got it cleared out, snaked it a little and the water flowed freely. I will definitely have to get the gutters screened or I will be doing this again.

Man that sucks, until you get to the dentist, get some Clove oil. Clove oil is a natural anesthetic and works well on toothache.

Never been to the dentist here in small town Wyoming. Already filled out the online forms and asked for the first available appointment. Figures that this would happen on the weekend. And the smoker full of meat!

Daughter is in town form Detroit to escape for the weekend

RANT ON: Her fiancé's mother, a.k.a. MONSTER-IN-LAW, has self-appointed herself my daughter's wedding Czar in a Bride-Zilla fashion. 13 texts and two requests for a face to face meeting to discuss the plans from Monday thru Wednesday night alone (because she already told her friends it was a brunch wedding and not a dinner wedding and "needs" to let them know)! Nothing like making up a stupid b.s. excuses to have to be in the know even before preliminary plans are on the table- for a wedding a year from now- and which doesn't even have a hard date yet. It shouldn't be this way.

My daughter has been holding back to see if the issues would resolve on their own, but they haven't, but they will not. So, in a week or two, when my wife is finally fully recovered from her reconstructive foot surgery, she is going up to Detroit to have lunch with my daughter and her Monster-in-Law Bridzilla. Just for that and nothing else. My even wife plans to fly back home the very same day because the whole trip is just for the lunch with Monster-In-Law. Airport to lunch and then back to the airport within a 6-8 hour time-span.

So, my BLUNT, TELL-IT-LIKE-IT-IS daughter and wife are going to "lay down the law" tag-team style and put an end to this crap. They will be making it crystal-clear that her overbearing intrusion is ruining everyone else's fun and that it is the reason my daughter and her fiancé are leaving Detroit in a couple months, even though they were planning to live there for another year until the wedding. My daughter is going to tell her we don't want the money she offered to contribute so she could invite her "friends" the kids don't even want to know. they aren't going to be invited.

They also plan to explain to her that she is merely just an "honored guest" at the wedding, not the party-planner; and that her behavior and the cold shoulder everyone is giving her is indicative of what her future relationship with her future grand-children will be like- if she totally alienates my daughter and her son over this. RANT OFF.

Weddings... in my opinion are a total PIA and a waste of money. I've been through a handful of them. Once as the groom and few times as a member to the groomsmen. If I had to do them over again, I would recommend to just elope and enjoy a honeymoon with the money that a "real" wedding would cost. Then I'd do a small family oriented "official" ceremony (if family wants a ceremony) to appease them for picture taking and all that jazz.

My wedding cost a ton of $ and I didn't know 80% of the people that we sent invites to. It was a nice celebration but in hindsight, it was a waste of money as the celebration was more catered to eating, drinking, and entertainment for the crowd.

Great advice, especially "..a small family oriented..." wedding.
