Unfortunately they probably taste like seafood.

Maybe if you cut through the fat and make some steaks and roasts from the meat they might be pretty tasty.

At least you don't have to reach out for a home insurance quote with Farmers.

I have a liberal friend in Florida outraged about it. State Farm, Allstate, Geico, and Farmers already shut down Cali.

It turns out that Newsom and deSantis have simply refused to ban hurricanes, brush fires, and earthquakes and instead focus on tranny stuff

Had alligator sausage a couple times from a fancy hot dog place. Tasted like spicy chicken to me.

My prior employer couldn’t make money after the summer three hurricanes went through Florida in 2009? Laws got passed limiting rate increases and eligibility. At that point, I think we were the 12th company to suspend selling in the state.

A year ago, they also pulled a product (think it was Auto) out of CA because of laws passed there.

Keeping customers “safe” also limits choice and raises costs.

What about the Florida legislature and governor constantly acceding to insurance company demands (often without hearings/due process):

Reduced statutes of limitation. No more attorney fees to the insured when the insured has to to sue their own insurance to obtain coverage or a fair settlement. Limited consumer attorney fees so that consumer law attorneys can't afford to do insurance work for consumers. No mandatory BI coverage for auto insurance. No future medical expenses in excessive of Medicaid rate in injury cases- guess how many of the good doctors one might need life-long care from who won't take Medicaid rates?... All so insurers don't have to pay full future medical expenses.

Take a look at how claims from last year's hurricane that hit the gulf coast of Florida have been handled by insurers and the astronomical number of claims denied when different insurers have been caught cheating by altering their experts' reports- and using them to fraudulently undercut their insured's claims...

Insurance is a business. Unfortunately if you live in an area with a lot of natural disasters, your rates are going to be stupid high, and with good cause.

Add to that the asshats that file fraudulent claims, and you get what you get. I'm just happy USAA insures my house and my cars.

They are a necessary evil in life but I'm not a big fan of insurance companies in general. Son's car insurance policy is up for renewal next month. I did some shopping around on line with some national insurance companies. A few don't even offer car insurance in MA. Others are right in line with the same coverage and similar prices to the regional insurance companies.

We'll probably end up staying with his current insurance company. It's one of the few major players in New England but I'm not too happy with their customer service. Had a bad experience with them in the past.

I promise you there is more unfair low-balling and fraud on courts by insurers and defendants in Central Florida than the relative handful of idiot people who make fraudulent insurance claims.

Still trying to get my house fixed... 3rd party adjuster came out and low-balled the hell out us... insurance paid and promised to pay more when they get more info... 3rd party adjuster dude wouldn't crawl up in my attic to check out the damage... now we have to remove the siding off the side of the house to try and inspect... not giving up but I thought it would be easier... If the insurer hired him, he's NOT neutral or "3rd party.' He knows who is paying him on case after case after case. He won't bite the hand that feeds him.

Time to look for a lawyer. Many times lawyers will take these types of cases on a contingency fee basis such that if you do not win, you owe NOTHING. And, if you do win, your own insurer -who you had to sue to get a fair settlement- even to pay your attorney fee/contingency fee.

PM me if you want me to find you one who specializes in homeowners insurance claims who practices near you. I can get you recommendations rom friends who only do that kind of work- and are organizationally connected with similar other lawyers all over the country.

Hey drafterx....

Get to know the "new insurance ways"....

It ain't 1975 anymore...when an actual agent claim adjuster came directly to your HUT WITHIN TWO WEEKS of the reported event and stayed until everything was done, damage assessment, property claims, destroyed belongings cataloged by then personally...

Now everyone has third party **** that LOW BALL THE PH*K OUT OF ANYTHING...DAMAGE IS LOWBALLED...
THEY MAKE YOU PERSONALLY DO THE BELONGINGS PART all by yourself, photography, $costs new, costs used,...
Then they cut your estimates in half and actually pull out the
"We don't cover guns, firearms, ammo, jewelry of any kind, art / paintings/ prints or high end antiques, collectables "
Without individual appraisals before hand and additional yearly costing riders that are expensive as hell...

Your f*cked....get used to it...it happened to me last December...USAA SCREWED, BLUED AND TATOOED MY STAR FISH BADLY...
THAT WAS ON THE HOUSE CLAIM...

THE GAVE ME "ZERO, NADA, NUTTIN'" ON MY SAAB 9.3
THAT CAUGHT FIRE AND WAS TOTALLED ..THEY SPENT MORE $$$ DENYING MY CLAIM, ADDITIONAL TOWS, ADDTIONAL ADJUSTER OPINIOONS, ADDITIONAL MECHANIC ESTIMATES...INSTEAD OF GIVING ME A $1,250-1500 CAR TOTALLED CHECK$$$...THEY SPENT OVER THAT # DENYING ME ANY COMPENSATION...

BUTTTT

YETTTT

USAA PAID THAT RETARDED "GRONK" A-HOLE FROM THE NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS MILLIONS OF $$$ 'S FOR 10-12
TV COMMERCIALS OVER A TWO YR PERIOD

Hope the tropical storm doesn't wet all the wood... if they keep closing it up before the wood dries, it will grow fungus.

I'd have a WDO inspection on it... new or not. When I got my house they found some in the attic. Inspector said builder didn't let the wood dry completely after it got wet and just kept going. Previous owner had to have it fixed and reinspected before we closed.

It got rain but most of the state did like in every hurricane. Our location was rather unaffected and tends to be with big hurricanes in Florida. The worst area actually is the panhandle.

Talked to the construction manager today. They are ahead of schedule and closing in the roof on Monday. Next up is HVAC and electrical.

Planning a site visit at the end of October and will likely go earlier as well before the drywall step for a planned inspection.

Are you watching out for the next hurricaine? Doesn't seem,**as of yet** it will strike Florida, but the re is the possibility of some wind and rain the further north one is.

If you want. LMK when you come and I'll come check it out with you. My dad was a developer/home builder and I love looking at that kind of stuff. Besides, it will be close to the last time you might ever smoke a cigar INSIDE the house. LOL.

I like to think of it as just a big ole ball of climate change! It will head for Canada and Canada will issue it an apology.

We are flying in Oct 20. I’ll probably have to be there sooner for drywall pre-close in inspection.

ThumpUp

Did they show you all the straps securing the roof structure to the framing?

Will you have an extra strength strong room?

Roof straps are required code. I gotta go over and visit and inspect before drywall. Prolly be there twice in October.

I also got impact resistant windows.
