I'm a fan of cilantro in my salsa and other dishes. The dried seeds of the cilantro plant (herb) is a common spice known as coriander. So if you grow cilantro, not only do you get a nice fresh herb but when it flowers and goes to seed, you can collect some coriander.

My Mom ate avocados with ketchup so that’s where I learned to eat it like that. With shoyu and wasabi sounds interesting, will give it a go next time. Never heard of, nor tried guacamole till I was in college. Back then Hawaii wasn’t exactly the place for Hispanics to come to so going to a Mexican restaurant was a rarity and sort of a big deal.

Russ, thanks. Our daughter makes some pretty good guacamole but will send her your recipe. ThumpUp

My kid time buddy that was our next, next door neighbor, used to eat avocado sandwiches and I thought it was the grossest thing I ever saw. BARF! Years later when I started to eat healthier, I tried a vegetarian sandwich with avocado and fell in love with them. But strangely enough, I’ve never made one at home, gonna hafta do that tomorrow or Friday.

Avocado spread on toast with pepper is a nice contrast of flavors and textures. Did it as a joke after hears a slice of toast with avocado was $5 at Starbucks. Great when you can make it at home for a buck.

I'm down with avocado on toast, with chips, on a sammich, and a taco place here does deep fried 'cado wedges as part of one of their tacos that's just plain awesome. I don't think I'd be good with just plain avocado tho, ketchup or not

Mowed the lawn. Froze. It's about 40 and very windy. But it had to be done.

I think new job is gonna make mowing n stuff a chore. No more mowing to kill one of 8 days off, now I need to mow when it needs to be mowed.

Another update Q&A on the Dali accident.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-t5EZov7b0

They discuss how it may have been bad fuel that disabled the engine. Apparently the bunker oil used to run ocean going ships can be contaminated with plastic material. Clean air restrictions dictate low sulfur fuel, ironically the sulfur would tend to dissolve the plastics, hence engine troubles caused by "cleaner" fuel.

Still at community, still in cardiology, but left cardiothoracic icu and went to the cardiac catheterization lab.

No more nightshift, no more crazy families, less bureaucratic bullchit. But I lost my week on week off schedule and took a 15% paycut leaving nightshift. I like the job, hate the schedule. Left a job I didn't like with a schedule I loved (minus nightshift). Working like a normal person 5 days a week. I do have to take call tho. One day a week plus one weekend every 7 weeks. But it's paid as OT plus 2 hours if called in and $50/day for being on call. I was promised "unlimited overtime" when I interviewed. Said admin doesn't go after them about overtime, and I've gotten enough OT even while training that I don't notice the pay cut. Eventually I can move to a 4 day schedule, which I plan to.

I'm gonna do it for a year. There's a huge amount of opportunity to go work for drug or device companies as a rep, and they make BANK. but need to know what I'm doing in cath lab first. But I figure 1 full year to feel comfortable in thr job before I decide if I want a schedule I love and a job I hate or a schedule I hate and a job I love. If I stay in it, the goal will be to go to one of the device companies as a rep/support role and get away from patient care entirely.

Top o' the mornin' dudes. Woke at 4am to heavy rain. Puppy dog usually whines and bitches about it... but he was quietly snuggled against my leg.

May have to postpone the walk. 7-8 am predicts rain. Should be cleared out by 10 am.

Have a day, fellas... a good one if you can.

72 heading to 79. Maybe a little bit of rain this morning as leftovers from what MACS got.

Delta IV launch this afternoon. Im thinking the winds will block it for today.

78F high with rain until about 1pm. About 10 degrees cooler than yesterday.
Need dry air to come in later today so I can paint my mailbox. Neighborhood association said my mailbox numbers wer faded and needed to be replaced (which happens every 5 or so years0. Keeps uniformity inn the neighborhood, which in turn holds/increases home values. Nothing else planne to day except hanging out with my wife on one of her days off...

No wind here now. Unless the fron blows out all the clouds, I won't be able to see it. Brick wall

Well... I got about 40 minutes into the 60 minute walk when the skies opened up. Me and puppy dog got soaked.

Good news, though! As most of you know I ain't made of sugar, so I did not melt. Tank got towel dried in the garage and I just hopped in da shower.

3 eggs scrambled with spinach and shrooms... slice of toast.

Couple boxes of cigars came today. Epernay Le Grande with a box code of December 2021 and CH Sfumato in C Major. No more space in box storage despite playing box tetris. Dug out one of my old totes from when I had a lot more cigars but no sense in starting that up with only 2 boxes in there so gonna do an ammo can humidor until I have enough to start filling the space.

I recommend a 165qt cooler. For when you need to store a teeny tiny collection

For storage I have a couple tuperdors and a wineaador. Humidity maintained using beads in the low 60's . Trying to wind down to one tuper and the wineador. I don't need so many cigars since I don't smoke them as much as I used to. A guy at work quit smoking cigs cold turkey but still has nicotine cravings.

I'll put together a 10er or so of everyday cigars and maybe it will help him with the nic cravings. Then again, cigars may not help with quitting cigarettes (I'm evidence of that).

On a lighter note: Kids will be here for Easter weekend but my son has to work on Easter. I still have to go buy a ham and fixiins for Sunday. It will be a relax day.

Daughter needs a new Lacrosse goalie helmet - she made varsity this year as a goalie. I don't think the local sports shop in town carries Lacrosse equipment. Prolly have to run to D ick's Sporting which is a couple towns away. I don't want to buy one online since you can't try them on and ensure it is a comfortable fit. That's on the to do list for Saturday afternoon.

My nephew works at Di ck's and knows Lacrosse really well (he's played it his whole life) and gets 20% off so we might do that. If we buy from there, I'll give him the 20% employee discount back under the table for helping us pick one out. I know zero about Lacrosse helmet so I'll let him and my daughter pick one out and just pay what I need to pay.

Walk done. Pupper fed... off to the gym for chest and triceps day. My favorite gym day.

Then maybe a visit to Walmart for some D3 gummies and Ezekiel bread.

Perfect timing. Monkey place finally replaced my moldy pre aged Epernay with a new box of December 2021 Epernay without mold yesterday.

So I got my free aged cigars in the end. Herfing
